SUMMARY:Silence in Plastic
DESCRIPTION:As part of the celebration marking its 70th anniversary in Lebanon\, the Goethe-Institut Libanon will present a showcase of artworks entitled “Silence in Plastic” by Baha’ Souki at Rebirth Beirut\, Gemmayze\, on view from November 1st till November 4th\, 2025. \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nSince 1955\, the Goethe-Institut has been dedicated to fostering cultural exchange\, dialogue\, and creativity in Lebanon. This milestone is not only a celebration of the past\, but also a moment to pause\, to reflect and to look forward to new ideas\, stronger connections\, and continued cultural exchange between Lebanon\, Germany\, and the world. \n\n\n\nBaha’ Souki is a visual artist based in Lebanon. Working across painting\, photography\, and video\, his practice investigates how perception\, memory\, and material presence inform our understanding of place and self. Using black ink\, Souki draws and erases\, tracing the subtle processes of disappearance and transformation within contemporary existence. \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nWith the support of the Goethe-Institut Libanon’s Cultural Grant\, Al-MU7AFFIZ\, the artist was able to expand his practice\, experimenting with new mediums and materials\, and further developing his artistic vision in ways that had previously been unexplored. \n\n\n\nDon’t miss this glimpse into an ongoing project by Baha’ Souki exploring how industrial expansion reshapes both landscape and memory. Living amid plastic factories and constant mechanical noise\, the artist reflects on how artificial materials define our sense of place and silence. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us on Thursday 29th May 2025 from 6pm to 8pm at Rebirth Beirut in Gemmayze\, as we reveal “Gifts from Heaven”\, a solo exhibition by Taline Kechichian\, in Collaboration with Aida Cherfan Fine Art. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition will run until Monday 9th June 2025 from 11:30am to 6pm (Closed on Sundays). \n\n\n\nIn 2007\, upon completing her Master’s Degree in Fine Art from the Academy of Fine Arts\, Vienna\, Austria\, under the tutorial of Prof. Gunter Damisch\, Taline was granted an award of Excellence. She was the First Prize winner in 2003 at the Lenzing AG Competition in Austria. \n\n\n\nShe has created public art projects like Murals and Illustrations in Belgium\, Austria and Lebanon. Invited by many renowned Museums and Art Centers like Kultum Graz\, Weinstadt Museum\, Krems and Boghossian Foundation\, Taline has participated in many Exhibitions and Autumn Shows in Austria\, Belgium\, Italy\, Lebanon. \n\n\n\nTaline is represented by Galerie Atelier 43 in St. Veit\, Austria and Aida Cherfan Fine Art Lebanon. \n\n\n\nPart of the proceeds will go to support Rebirth Beirut’s initiatives.
