The Beating Heart of Metn’s Coast

Together, we can bring Light back to Jdeideh

Composed of the communities of Jdeideh, Bauchrieh, and Sed El Bauchrieh, the municipality extends across a major urban area that includes Dora, Sabbtiyeh, Rawda, Nahr El Mot, Roueissat, Ammarieh, and surrounding neighborhoods. Today, the municipality serves a population exceeding 200,000 residents, making it one of the most densely populated and economically significant local authorities in Lebanon.

Historically, the area was renowned for its fertile agricultural plains, abundant water resources, citrus orchards, banana plantations, palm groves, traditional waterwheels, and natural springs. Due to its proximity to Beirut and the rapid urban growth experienced throughout the second half of the twentieth century, JBS gradually evolved into one of Lebanon’s foremost urban and economic centers.
