Kelly Haddad

Kelly Haddad is a multidisciplinary Artist and Creative Director/Producer based in New York, known for her emotionally compelling creations. Her artwork centers around a single recurring character—a bold, abstract, and anonymous figure—designed to explore universal themes of identity, connection, and mental well-being. This character has become a powerful visual language in Kelly’s art, representing the conscious mind and the concept of coexisting between a state of chaos and calm. Through her work, she reflects on the introspection of our emotions and behaviors in reaction to everyday life, current events, cultural nuances, and the human experience and mind. Her creations often include poems, and have been showcased in a solo exhibition, in public spaces, and sold to art lovers worldwide. Kelly’s creative journey is enriched by her academic background, holding a Bachelor of Science in Media, Culture, and Communications from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Human Development, specializing in Images and Screen Studies, and a certification in Wellness and Behavior Counseling from Cornell. She aims to continue creating at the intersection of art, psychology, and education—expressing through various mediums, including drawing, acrylic painting, digital media, writing, and mixed techniques.

Artist Statement

My art is inspired by the world around us, but more so by the world inside our minds. Rooted in the unseen world within us, my art embodies the conscious mind and the concept of coexisting between a state of chaos and calm. Anchored in a single faceless, abstract figure, this character embodies the human experience and serves as a vessel for exploring emotions and inner conflicts. Through illustrations, animations, and large-scale canvases, I bring this figure to life, offering a mirror for introspection and connection. I draw from the natural world, particularly elements like water and light, human interactions, and my cross-cultural identity as an Arab-American woman. At the heart of my practice is a mission to place this character in meaningful spaces—homes, public environments, and interactive installations—to bridge the gap between internal struggles and the shared human experience, fostering opportunities for healing, understanding, and connection. Each piece serves as an intimate exploration of the shared struggles and triumphs that define our humanity.
